  • I love Vegas and the restaurants it has to offer. This trip I wanted something different and off the beaten path. I found the Oyster Bar via an Internet search and based on the Yelp reviews, I coaxed my fiancĂ© into going. Entering the Palace Station, I was a little skeeved out. It smells and the people are a bit of a motley crew. I said 'we are eating and promptly leaving'. We approached the line to wait for chair at the Oyster Bar and waited about 45 minutes to be seated. After reading the menu online, I had a pretty good idea of what I wanted - the Pan Roast. We were starving and ordered the Calamari. My fiancĂ© and I chose different Pan Roasts. He ordered the Palace Roast and I the Combo Roast. We sat, happily eating our very tasty Calamari, amused watching oysters being shucked and each Pan Roast being made in the steam pots in front of us. The crowd at the bar was fun, we chatted with those to the left and right of us. The service was attentive and the chef was quite funny as he worked. Finally... two huge bowls were placed in front of us. A bright red, hot bowl of the most fantastic garlicky smell I've encountered. It's like a soup, it's like a bowl of seafood goodness, it is unlike anything I've tried and it was heavenly. Just plain heavenly. It was such a awesome meal. Go to the Palace Station and find the Oyster Bar! I hope your experience was as good as ours because we are huge fans and definitely will be back.
