  • This was my second visit to PH- Located on Restaurant Row between the Venetian and Palazzo. Two years or so I had my Bday dinner there. Quite enjoyable, (but notice I have not returned for 2 years). This time took my guy (DARK BEER LOVER). We went Friday nite @ 10pm (Vegas "come alive time"). As we approached, the greeting gal snapped out "dining room is closed, you can sit at bar if you want". We didn't 'want'. Left for dinner at LAVO. OK, we went back last night at daylight savings time..early 6-7 somewhere around there. ATMOSPHERE 3-4 STARS. I like DARK, RICH DECOR,COZY- so much of Vegas suits me. But with that said, I also like to sit with my man at my side, not at a 'mini 2-top' not big enough for two dinner plates. So I refused the 2-top and opted for the 4-top next to it. Host didn't hesitate to move me when I asked. Good, because I refuse to pay high prices ever again and eat off a "pedestal top", constantly re-arranging plates and glasses to "fit". FOOD & PRICE- 3-4 STARS. We shared: Public House Caesar salad-$13, Public House burger & fries-$19, and side of sautéed mushrooms-$12, me red wine/ Zin $11, and my guy the 'Big & Dark Sampler' $17 (4-6 oz samples) We also had 1 crème Brulee $9 and a coffee- $2.95 TOTAL 90.75. Salad so small it was like a cup of soup or less size each when divided. Dressing was so sour it made my mouth pucker and the bacon cut into little 1 1/2 inch strings and fried into 'glass shards', I could not chew it! I hope it does not slice me on the way 'thru'. I gave to my guy and he said it was impossible for him to chew. =FORGET IT! Burger, good, but I was hungry. Fresh bun and stewed tomato with dressing of sorts and lettuce-it was GOOD. I've had GOOD for much lower prices, BUT I knew the price going in. I don't eat fries so can't judge, they were served in a small 6 oz or so s.steel cup. Mushrooms very tasty, but I kept thinking of the giant tub in my fridge I got for $3.50- but hey- I didn't have to cook them and YES I pay for ATMOSPHERE- and I do understand the trend in Vegas, everything is 'GOURMET'. ZIN was ..good red zin. Beer sampler a HIT (maybe the best deal, and yes I realize PH is famous for the HUGE beer menu). Brulee, average-good. SERVICE- very attentive without aggravation. I would take guest here, especially if they were BEER LOVERS. But, as I find myself saying: VEGAS has SO MANY CHOICES, if it doesn't WOW me, I keep trying other places. FOOTNOTE: Yes it is Sema week here, but as a single woman (not looking) I noticed 75% of clientele is MEN...just sayin gals.
