great atmosphere and service but the food is just average, particularly for the price. the two-star rating description "meh. i've experienced better." explains exactly how i feel.
my husband brought me here for valentine's day so we could be fancy. we started at the bar. Jared was great, Aldo was a wet rag. we were both horrified that the margarita comes out of a spout behind the bar. if there was a difference between some canned "house" margarita and a fresh-made one, no one gave us that choice. the ladies next to us must have ordered every appetizer on the happy hour menu -- they looked good and were reasonably priced but we saved room for dinner. (mistake?)
dinner on the patio was beautiful -- nice weather, soft lighting, heaters where necessary, love songs at an appropriate volume. our waitress was friendly and attentive. but dinner itself was completely unremarkable. there was a preset menu to choose from and we chose a variety. for nearly $300 after cocktails, a bottle of wine and tip, i am disappointed that not one food item stands out. not even the dessert.
people love the sticky buns. they're fun for sure! but i have been spoiled by sassy's bakery in east mesa (totally worth the really far drive!) so to me, that is not a big draw.
