| - Being located directly between thousands of young condo dwellers and their places of work, you'd think that a place like Spot Coffee wouldn't have to try too hard, and would still make a killing. Thankfully, this isn't the case.
Spot is located inside the ever-expanding CityPlace complex, right across the street from the SkyD... er, Rogers Centre. There's what appears to be a decent selection of coffee-type beverages and accoutrements - I wouldn't know, I don't drink the stuff - as well as some tasty juices and a fairly standard assortment of sodas. Overall, fairly standard for a coffee shop.
The food is a bit better than standard, I'd say - baked goods are tasty, and the portions are generous. Just yesterday I had a tea biscuit there that would make most bagels give up their lunch money. They've also got delicious breakfast stuff -the breakfast bagel with provolone was wonderful - and pizza too. I've never tried more than a slice, but it was memorable enough to remember, and is definitely on my to-do list the next time I'm there.
For my money, the only real issue with the place is... my money. It ain't exactly cheap - the aforementioned juices run close to $3 and the breakfast stuff generally around $6. There are certainly more expensive, but there's also a Tim Horton's about a 5 minute walk north. Overall, I'm very happy to visit when I'm seeing friends at CityPlace.
