  • So we decided to go to Epic restaurant inside Royal York Hotel. It's supposed to be an upscale restaurant inside a 5 star hotel where customers get special attention. Wrong! It didn't start right when we got seated. Our waiter disappeared on us after giving us the menu and served the red wine while I get an empty glass and no water. Past 25minutes, we saw our waiter just busy walking around serving other people. It was a total disappointment. We were simply ignored when there are so many vacant seats around us. Sometimes I wondered, am I not dressed properly and not wearing my diamonds? Another waiter came by and I asked what happened to our waiter? He apologized and said he can serve us. He took our order and the food came in fast. Then the waiter said, sorry you don't have bread, let me get them. Oh boy. We ordered the pan seared chicken breast, flat iron steak and Royal York seafood chowder. The food was perfectly prepared just the right seasoning not too salty and just as we expected for this category of restaurant. Prices for lunch ranges from $26 to $32. Their lunch special is $39. Chowder was $16. But prices do not matter at all if you're there to have a nice lunch. Overall can't complain about the food. Just the poor service.
