| - No matter what type of event you're looking to host, start (and end) your search with PointBreezeway. I have hosted two events here that were on totally opposite ends of the spectrum and both were perfect. This place has it all. Locally owned and operated, supportive of other small businesses, charming, cozy, affordable. The list goes on.
The first event I had there was an orientation event for grad students before school started in August of 2015. The weather was perfect and everyone felt comfortable to mingle outside or sit inside for more intimate conversations. We were able to bring our own food and drinks (which I didn't realize at the time was such an awesome deal, more on that later), and I'm still hearing from students that it was one of their favorite social activities while they've been in graduate school.
The second event was my wedding in June of 2016. If you are looking to have a small-ish wedding, you cannot find a better place. My husband and I shopped around (with PBW as our measuring stick) but we just couldn't compare. The price is way more affordable than any of the other cool venues in town AND NO EXCLUSIVE CATERERS. After looking at other catering options that would have been required by other venues, PBW became a hard yes. We were on a pretty tight budget and at PointBreezeway, we were able to contract with Driftwood Oven (another WONDERFUL local business) to sling pizzas for everyone (three different types) for less than what would have bought us a handful of appetizers elsewhere. We also were able to brew our own beer and had the cookie table that dreams are made of. It meant that we were able to splurge a bit on our photographer, so we have excellent photos of the day.
The venue (and Lauren and her dad) made our non-traditional ceremony feel totally normal. We had a quick, standing, self-uniting ceremony against the beautiful wall in the backyard before everyone dispersed to eat, drink, and be merry. There isn't anything about that day that we would do differently and I'm so happy that PBW was there to provide such an important and integral setting for the day.
