I would love to have a cozy, inviting neighborhood bar. Albert's is not that. You can definitely tell it used to allow smoking, because the remnants of smoke are still there. You know that stale smell... it's also just as gross as smoking. It's already pretty drab inside, but the fact that there is literally one of the finest windows ever producing a sliver of natural light makes it even less aesthetically appealing.
While I understand they have "expanded" their beer selection, it still looked pretty average to me. There's so many awesome breweries in Pittsburgh, if they really were to care, I'd think they'd add a local tap or two. You can take out 6 packs, but it's very limited and only beers like Bud Light.
What's really annoying as a Dormont resident, is that they're a terrible community partner. They've owned the old pharmacy next to them for years and haven't done a thing with it. It's just sat there with huge broken windows and junk inside for years. Now there's boards up... While their current establishment is plain Jane looking, the unfinished building they own next door looks downright trashy. I truly do hope they wake up and either sell off that property or finally fix it.
