| - My insurance covered a free cleaning at this place, so I decided to make my dental appointment here. It took about 3 weeks to get an appointment with this office. On the day of my appt, I came early to fill out my new patient paperwork, but like the other reviews have stated, this office tends to run an hour behind on schedule. The waiting room is very small, maybe a dozen seats, but it is a nice looking office. It's not so easy to find though.
Once I was in the the room, it did take at least another 15 minutes to get started on my X-rays and exam. The dental assistant was very nice to me and so was Dr. Um. The dentist recommended the exact work I already knew I needed. I feel like some dentists make up problems with your teeth to make money, and I did not get this impression from this office at all. They were also able to get ALL of the work I needed done at the same appointment, and allowed my friend to charge $799 on his credit card over the phone for my dental work. They were patient with me for 30 min while I figured out how to pay for the service.
This place is fairly affordable for cash paying patients. There is definitely cheaper dentists to go to, such as Cherrington Dental right across the street. This place charged $150 per resin composite filling, and I needed 2 replaced from 10 years ago. This was much cheaper than other dentists I've been to, but Cherrington only charges $99 per filling. I also needed my old Invisalign attachments removed, and I noticed they advertised Invisalign here. They charged me $300 to remove 16 attachments. This is where I have become unsatisfied with the service. I've had these removed before, and my teeth should of felt as silky smooth as the rest of my teeth after being removed. Unfortunately this was not the case. I mentioned it to Dr. Um and he kept drilling at them. One of my fangs feel much smoother but I could tell he was shaving my actual tooth because I could taste it. I've had IPL done before and your teeth being shaved into your mouth is a very memorable taste and smell. This shouldn't happen when removing Invisalign attachments. I personally think the wrong drill was used to remove mine here. It's been 2 weeks, and those teeth feel gross. There is definitely still composite residue left on them. I'll have to ask my usual dentist to clean it up when I go in for my next cleaning. At least the attachments appear to be gone, so there's that. I also wonder if this place has a hygienist? Because the dental assistant polished and flossed my teeth for me and I thought that was strange. The dentist did do my cleaning though. I noticed other reviewers have mentioned this as well, so I can't help but wonder if an actual hygienist is on staff here?
I would use this place as my alternative dentist. I just wouldn't recommend Invisalign here, I would go to an actual Orthodontist for that.
