This review is more of a reflection of the delivery services than the actual store. I found a good deal on a refrigerator that we wanted to use as a second (5 kids, it helps!) so I shopped around. To give sears credit, their prices were the most competitive so I went with them. I paid extra to have the refrigerator delivered that Saturday since I didn't want to burden my wife with it on a week day. The morning of the delivery I received a confirmation and soon afterwards I received a cancellation. I called to get details and they told me that the store forgot to pick it up from the warehouse. I asked for the extra delivery fee to be refunded but was directed to the store (since the service was so terrible I decided instead of trying to get my money back to just consider it a sunk charge).
Anyways, they finally did deliver it a week later when I was out of town. They made my wife hunt for an extension cord (we just moved here and most things are still in boxes) because they didn't see the plug in right beside where it was being placed and instead plugged it in across the room.
When I finally got in town I checked out the fridge and it was obvious that there had been a huge gash on the top corner that was touched up with what looked like white-out. Thankfully it was a second fridge and since I really hate dealing with inept people I decided not to fight that either.
In summary, don't buy from sears unless it's a great price, you're flexible on delivery, and you're ok with some cosmetic flaws. I always laugh when I read in the financial news that Sears has secured more financing to keep the Titanic open a little longer. With service like this, just let the thing sink already.
