  • I recently had the worst experience here. I had a large amount of family flying into town to celebrate my uncle receiving an honorary doctorate at his Alma Mater. The culmination of the weekend was a surprise dinner for him at Fogo. As a professional event planner, I emailed the private dining salesperson (who was lovely) and together, we made the decision that sitting in the main dining room would be a better option for my group because we didn't want to be married to a minimum spending amount since my lovely 85 year old grandmother was treating. Although we did not get the private room, we were informed we could come early to set some menus and decor on the tables. When I arrived to the restaurant at my reservation time, I was informed that my table wasn't available. What? I had made a reservation and my entire family was on the way. I peered into the private room and it was not occupied. So, a lovely hostess found the "manager" and asked him if we could use the private room. He gave me some schpeel about we can't because of a myriad of different bogus reasons and stalling and then my husband and I finally sorted through his BS to hear that another group would be coming in. Okay, no worries- that makes sense. BUT Then, the "manager" proceeds to tell me he was actually lying and that there was no group in there tonight but he didn't want to give us the room because we are not "his" customers and had previously contacted the group sales manager (as one would). He said "his" customers can get the private room at any time with no minimum or anything. I said "Great! We would love to be your customers, we are here now and will definitely have a bill of over $2,500. He said no once again because we aren't "his" customers. What? Isn't everyone in the restaurant "his" customers? His pompous attitude and aggressive demeanor COMPLETELY ruined our night, had me fuming and my husband minutes away from going off on this pretentious snob. He continuously talked over me, insulted me and never once apologized. Congratulations Fogo on ruining a once in a lifetime event for my family and uncle.
