Me and my best friend come to this place the most for our sushi craving for this very reason: Best quality of fish with the most affordable price.
I always start out with a seaweed salad- their portion size on this one is small but it's not a big deal because you get so much food later on that it's a great starter.
Then I pack on nigiri, everything from big belly tuna to seared pepper to yellowtail and salmon. Their fish quality versus some cheaper joints like Blue Fin & Daisho knock them out of the water and give the most bang for your buck if you're a fish lover like me. And for these, they don't scrap you on portion- I could barely fit the whole piece in my mouth. Still did and it freaking MELTED with flavour.
My friend ordered Shrimp Killer- good for people looking for a lighter choice. It didn't come with much eel sauce but when we ordered a second one with extra it was overkill so just compensate with soy or something.
I ordered a Salmon Crunch- much more on the heavier side which is why it only came with six pieces because one piece feels like an entire roll. But very cooked and comes with two sauces on the side to dip them in.
We picked off the rest of my friends scallop crunch roll when the manager Gio (who'd been serving us all night as well) came up to check our IDs for some complimentary drinks for being such frequent customers. This really made up for the off putting vibe we got from the female server who silently got our menus and took our plates with frozen ice on her face.
Nonetheless he really made us feel welcome by remembering us and appreciating our feedback on social media. I got to sample a light peach sparkling sake while my friend got a raspberry sake straight. I would've enjoyed more of it if I weren't driving but it was a great cap to a great meal next to the always amazing banana tempura that is a must for leaving room for!
Beyond satisfied for this trip, already looking forward to next time!
