Browsed here many times, bought one nice Japan made guitar in the 1990's.
Ring used to be a more 'premium' and vintage shop, but has adapted to serve a largely imported and value-priced inventory. That's partly what internet did to the rare and special instruments market, and partly the excellence of Asian mass production quality control that serves many players well enough.
These guys do know guitars! The Japan Strat I bought collapsed a bridge saddle on day one, I was adjusting it downward (not up!) and the screw hole just stripped out immediately. Defective. The shop kind of blamed me (sorry guys, I've tinkered with many guitars and know what I'm doing) but put a new saddle on for me gratis.
Check out the cozy but clean and nicely-arranged space and see if Ring has what you'd like. It's usually quiet there unlike Steve's Music on Queen.
