| - I had to run into Fry's tonight to try to grab something for my son who was sick. We arrived 15 minutes before they closed. That was no biggie because we just really needed some items for my son's sore throat. The store was completely void of any personnel anywhere except at the front of the store. The store was still open, so I was hoping to just find someone to help us find one of the items really quickly and we could have checked out in just a few minutes. Instead, without being able to find the item, we had to try to find it in several different locations. The store is being remodeled, which in and of itself is not a big deal. Had I been able to find a willing employee to help us find our item, that would not have been an issue.
I had to walk up to the front of the store where 5 employees were congregating and chatting up a store. They saw me standing there waiting to be helped & instead I saw several of them clock out (which means they were on the clock when I walked up hoping for some assistance).
The lady working the self service checkout was talking to another lady that must have already been clocked out. She had a scowl on her face and did not acknowledge us even after I made it a point to say something about the lack of customer service to my son.
Prior to that, I had to run down one cashier who was counting out his drawer since he was the first employee I had been able to find. I asked him where the item was. He didn't know, but at least he wasn't rude. He asked a young associate with long black hair if she knew where it was. I'm not sure if she was being rude or if she was upset he didn't know, but it came off hostile. She looked up the aisle, which I had already searched. I went back to double check and it still wasn't there. All in all, we had to spend more time in the store than it should have took just to end up not finding the item we were looking for. That made us have to leave after the store was already closed. We would have left in plenty of time before the store closed if we could have had just one decent bit of customer service.
I shop at this store all of the time. I don't think I've ever been treated so poorly and just rudely. Like I already mentioned, we wouldn't have had any issues if the store was not going through a remodel in the first place and the people working there aren't willing to help the customers during that remodel. Everything has been moved. The bread, yogurt, juices, etc. are ALL in new locations!
