I grew up in Berea and yet somehow had never had doughnuts from Spudnuts until this week.
That was dumb.
I brought home a dozen for the house to share and by the next morning there were only two left. I'm a little embarrassed by the number I ate all by myself, but let's not linger on that topic and move on to the yummy details, shall we?
The doughnuts were delicious. The old fashioned was crisp on the outside and dense inside while still retaining its lightness. The Boston cream style had a great chocolate flavor and the perfect amount of filling. The cherry filled wasn't my favorite (a little too much sweet glaze and I thought there was a lot of dough and little filling), but it still went well with a cup of black coffee.
These doughnuts are everything you ever wished a Dunkin Donut could (but never will) be.
