| - Having stayed at a gazillion of Intercontinental hotels worldwide (thanks to the friends and family discount) expectations were high. Unfortunately I was slightly disappointed with how old and ordinary the hotel was.
The lobby was small and unimpressive, the hotel restaurant looked depressingly empty the entire time we were there, and the corridors were in need of a touch up (not a major overhaul, just a touch up!). And call me strange, but the best thing about checking into a new hotel is the anticipation when I open the door to my room. I just couldn't wait to see what the room looks like. This one, to put it bluntly, was a let-down.
Despite the above, everything was in working order, everyone was extremely nice and helpful, it is located in the nicer part of town and the stay was overall very pleasant.
But if you're looking for amenities like the Intercontinental Bali (http://www.intercontinental.com/intercontinental/en/gb/locations/dpsha?sicreative=8222466709&dp=true&sicontent=0&sitrackingid=203033147&siclientid=4973), or the (relatively) brand new Intercontinental Boston (http://www.intercontinental.com/intercontinental/en/gb/locations/BOSHA?sicreative=8265061140&dp=true&sicontent=0&sitrackingid=210408469&cm_mmc=Google-PS-InterContinental-_-G%20B-Americas-Top-MA-Boston-_-MA-Boston-_-intercontinental%20boston&siclientid=1911), like me, you'll be in for a disappointment.
