| - Siegfrid & Roy's Secret Garden is part tof the admission at the Mirage's Dolphin Habitat (which I have reviewed separately). It was not until I read another review, that I recalled that when the Secret Garden first opened, it was inside, probably allowing for a much nicer climate for these animals! Between the two, I enjoyed the Secret Garden more than the Dolphin Habitat. The area was lushly landscaped and pretty. It took a little loinger for us to traverse, although it is still pretty small, holding about 6 different feline species including lions, regular tigers, white tigers, leopards.
The cats were impressive to see, but not very entertaining. Most of the time they were sleeping. Honestly, my 11 year old was more entertained by several mice that were running in and out of the cages.
I have to admit I got a kick out of seeing Sigfried in person! I remember when Siegfried and Roy was a top ticket in Vegas and they seemed to be on every variety show on television. Siegfried was very gracious and posed in every picture, clearly enjoying himself as much as the fans who remembered him. What I found sad was that in his namesake "zoo", the line for pictures and autographs was often quite sparse. At times there was no line at all and the once famous Sigfried would wander around, unrecognized, almost like a ghost.
Admission to both the Secret Garden and Dolphin Habitat was $69 for 2 adults and 2 children. Although I did enjoy the Secret Garden more than Dolphin Habitat (hence the extra star), I found both places to be a bit sad and not worth the hefty price tag, even for Vegas standards.
