| - Review coming from a father of 1 girl and 4 year season pass holder...First, the good...season passes are the way to go if you live anywhere close. After 2 times going it pays for it's self. Plus, discounts on everything you buy except games if the pass is shown as well as free parking. If you go a lot, purchase the souvenir cup. It's pretty big and you can get free refills all season long of water at no charge and if you want soda it's something like $2.00 a refill...costs $15.00 but so worth it for the summer, just don't forget it. In October there's Scarowinds. Water Park called Boomerang Bay is not an additional cost and is attached to the park. Quite large with a lot of choices for all ages in the water park. A ton of parking especially now that the South entrance is finally open. Most of all, my daughter loves it and at age 7, doesn't even notice or care about the negatives that as an adult, frustrate me enough to loathe going to Carowinds
Now, the negatives...Boomerang Bay closes at 7:00pm...make is 9:00pm in summer months. If you don't have season passes plan to spend a boat load of money. Tickets are $50+ each, parking is $15.00 and food is ungodly expensive. Best bang for your buck is 2 slices of pizza and French fries for $12.00 over by the Superman ride, IMO. Nothing is under $10.00 for any meal. Carolina is HOT in the summer, be nice if they had a few mister tents around to walk through to cool off some. The games are $3.00 a pop, did find one that was only $1.00 though. The park was a nickelodeon theme park a few years ago and changed to The peanuts. Kids now don't care or even know who Snoopy, Charlie Brown and the gang are, it was way better when it was Nickleodeon. There is ONE exit line. This may not seem like a big deal but at 9:30pm and park closes at 10:00, why is there ONE exit spot?
In a nutshell, it's not horrible for a large theme park but some little changes would make a huge difference...
