| - I took the journey from the Strip to come check this place out based on a recommendation in a magazine. Overall, this place def deserved the magazines spotlight, and the journey was validated.
The decor is that sort of new modernist industrial, lots of wood and metal, bare bulbs, etc. as I enjoy this ascetic, it worked for me. I was solo, so immediately got a stool at the counter, and within a minute had my coffee and water, and less than five minutes after placing my order, had my food. Fast, friendly service!
I'm docking one star because my only complaint was the food. I got the Chicken Fried Steak, which came with eggs, potatoes, and toast. The toast slices were thick and delicious. The potatoes were solid, so too the eggs. My only minor complaint was the CFS. Being from the south, I'm a bit of a perfectionist for this dish. The fried batter came out just a tad too soft; I prefer a crush. As this is a personal preference, I don't dock it too much, but that's what keeps this place slightly from getting ready a full 5 star from me.
That said, I saw some of the other dishes people next too me order, and I could imagine some of their more specialty dishes earning the full 5.
