| - Since I didn't have dental insurance this year, I found a valpak coupon for Best Value Dentistry to get a free exam and xrays. I thought yay I can do this without insurance. My teeth were never that bad anyway.
My first appointment I got really great service with Joey (front desk/office manager), the hygienist and Dr Trujillo. They were all very knowledgeable and got dental work done. I didn't make another cleaning appointment because I wasn't sure of my work schedule, which can and does change, but he invited me to call whenever I was ready.
Now, despite some minor coloring issues and one problematic tooth, I really never needed extensive dental work--so they're really just good teeth (yay).
Well the dental work didn't stay, and so I made another appointment on July 14 with Joey for July 17th, for a cleaning and check out the work. He said to come between 4 and 5. I was surprised and happy that there was an opening this week and thought this has got to be the greatest dental office ever.
Got there, no Joey, met Nicole. There were 3 people in the waiting room. Found out that there was no appointment for me. Pretty peeved that I drove in 109 degree heat for a non appointment.
She said she could schedule me for Monday, which I did for 7/27, but I asked to have Joey call me to do something about this, like a free cleaning or something, for the hassle of coming down here.
Waited the full week of 7/20. No call. My gut feeling figured he wouldn't. He is basically someone who doesn't know how to run a business and hasn't grown up yet.
I cancelled 7/27 because of work, and called again this week to schedule with (surprise) Joey for this afternoon. I mentioned to him I didn't get a call about what happened and of course apologized, and that he had many customers and was going to do some sort of audit of the system to find out what happened and call me back in the afternoon. Right. No call, what a surprise. He's not there in the afternoons, except if friends need a cleaning (more on that later). All I needed was a cheap cleaning and maybe some dental work.
This morning received a call that the dentist is sick and my appointment will need to be rescheduled. Wow, this is just great, how convenient. I make an appointment and just so happens THIS DAY the dentist is not in. I rescheduled for next week. I had someone else call and got Joey, who said that they were really busy and couldn't schedule until Monday. Right--they are busy getting a cleaning on the appointment I was supposed to have!
So I went there to see how "busy" they were and heard a lot of medical equipment going, and oh wow Joey was there. Nobody waiting in the waiting area. He said that there is no dentist today and he is doing cleanings just for friends. How nice. How do I become a friend? I'm only a paying customer. Geez. Then 3 other people walked in toward the dental stations. Of course appointments will need to be rescheduled to accommodate these friends. They're taking my appointment!
He apologized of course, then I really gave it to him, saying that even though I don't need $3000 worth of work I still count as a customer. He apologized again. Would not make up for the lies and the hassle. I was even willing to pay at this appointment before I got here. If he had any business sense, he would have done something to keep me as a customer. But in the end this whole thing was a game, a game to him. Do a free exam to see how bad the teeth are and get $$$ of procedures done. Forget about the others.
This "office" isn't worth it. Unless you are Joey's friend.
