We were visiting Montreal last week and a friend of ours mentioned Aux Iles à Sucre in the Plateau Mont-Royal which offered dishes from the islands that we love. They had a great choice of meat, chicken, fish and vegetarian dishes accompanied with rice, fried plantains and salad. They also have different kind of pates. With our family we had the meat and chicken dishes which tasted great and we even ordered plantains and rice to take out so we can have it as a snack the next day at the hotel:-)
The atmosphere is great with unique shopping items offered from Guadeloupe, Martinique, Dominique and Haiti. Naturally the cooking is also influenced by these islands.
The decor is great, the food can be eaten on the premises or taken out. There are great deserts and juices made on the premises. They also offer a mini-market for fresh fruits and vegetables, and locally made chocolates.
