| - I've been going to Whitey's for about 3 years with my 20-year old car, a 1997 Mercury Cougar. Based on my experience with them, they do their work like I do mine, which is to focus on doing the repairs well rather than cheap or with shortcuts. I go to them because they are reliable and honest, and if I have any questions about the work they've done, they will take the time to discuss it with me.
My car being so old, this last visit the mechanic, JP, had to make the part since it is no longer available. By the looks of it, it is probably better than the original part and will last longer.
I first took my car to Whitey's because my then regular mechanic, who is also very good, was having trouble getting my brakes to stop squeaking even though he put new rotors, pads, etc. on. JP was able to stop the squeaking and I've been going to them ever since. I like the fact that I have an assigned mechanic (although you can have other mechanics work on your car if you want to) because he knows my car well and I feel that he has my best interests in mind, and doesn't do work or repairs that don't need to be done.
I highly recommend Whitey's, whether you have a newer or older card. As I've said, they probably aren't the cheapest, but they are at the least among the best and most reliable.
