| - Yet another yogurt place huh? Yeah, my thoughts exactly. There's this duality with yogurt and I...I tend to think that the sheer number of froyo places in town is getting ridiculous; yet about every three or four days I have an unholy craving for the stuff. I guess I can imagine worse scenarios...having a Burger King or McDonalds on every corner...oh wait. Froyo I can live with; especially when it's so damn good, like it is at The Yogurt Company.
There were a few hiccups it seemed with the place opening...we live right down the street, so we'd drive by daily and see more and more progress being made; counting down the time until we would have sweet yummy yogurt within walking distance. The Grand Opening was supposed to be on a random Thursday...so we got all excited...went on a walk to find a closed store without even the yogurt dispensers installed yet. If there's a pet peeve or ours, it's when a business advertises an opening date; and drastically misses it.
That's all water under the bridge now though, they did indeed open a couple weeks later and luckily it was worth the wait. It might actually dethrone our current favorite...YogurtLand. It's pretty cheap, although not the cheapest we've had at 39 cents an ounce...usually we can get outta there with two pretty big cups of yogurt for around seven bucks. It's super clean and modern...unlike Mojo Yogurt at Tempe Marketplace that seems to always be crawling with kids trying to fill up on free samples. As far as flavors...here are some of our favorites:
Tart- Oh yes Tart...this is the general measure of any Froyo place in our eyes. Here's it's subtle, creamy, light and really flavorful...one of the best we've tried.
Peppermint- Suprisingly yummy. Creamy and minty...another winner.
Cookies and Cream- They know how to do it here, you can practically taste the oreo cookies; it's easily the best c/c flavor of any froyo around town.
Peanut Butter-Tastes super peanut butter'y...almost too much so. Tastes like eating real peanut butter in some different form, heavy.
Strawberry- More like Strawberries and Cream...delightfully strong strawberry flavor that mixes well with the creaminess of the yogurt.
All in all, we're super excited about this place. I can't wait to see what new flavors they introduce, for the time being it's hard to beat the quality of the stuff they're churning out here. Watch out YogurtLand...I've noticed the crowds already starting to build at this place!
