Phone-in customer service was terrible. I called in to start a new service after moving into my new place. The customer rep had no interest in explaining to me the various internet plans they offered. He even said "are you calling in just to ask about pricing or to make an order?" Secondly, he pressured me to order the package deal, phone, TV, and internet. I declined because nobody uses home phone anymore and I don't watch TV. He even insisted that I was "out-dated" because I told him I can get the news from YouTube instead of TV. Very rude customer service. COX should not pressure their employees to close on as many service orders as quickly as they can. COX should not pressure their employees to sell a package that I don't want.
Tip for potential customers: you should shop around for other internet service providers. I feel duped. I ended up signing up for 15mbps service for $50/month. They even have the audacity to charge me a service fee of $70. The modem will cost $5/month. This will total $730+ for the year. AND after 12 months the price will go up because this is supposed to be their introductory DEAL. Deal my ass more like a monopolistic scam. I hate COX and you should too.
