  • I had a leak on the water line of my house in Summerlin. I had 2 plumbers come out and give me a quote. Both were around $3500 to replace the line, and neither of them wanted to find the leak. I called several leak detection places, but Accurate Leak Detection (ALD) was the only one who claimed they would find the leak, and if not, you did not pay. As one would expect that also came with a premium price. They were the most expensive of everyone I called. 2 men came out and said they had found the leak in my front yard ( and they were correct). They gave me a small break on the price to find the leak because it was such an easy leak for them to detect. Now the not so good news. He gave me a price, and explained to me that it was high ( I got another price, and ALD was almost twice the price) because the lawn had a upwards slope and he would have to dig about 5' down to get to the line. He further explained that because of a nearby tree the digging would be difficult. After considering all the factors I went with ALD. As it turned out they only had to dig 2'-7" to get to the line and the tree was not really a factor. They did fix the leak, and he did give me a small discount, but I just felt that, compared to my other bid, they were extremely high in price. Especially considering the factors that he described, which were driving the higher price, turned out to be invalid. Bottom line, the were accurate at finding my leak. They did a good job fixing the leak. They were just extremely expensive.
