Food: Super Yummy * Service: Excellent * Tea: not so much
Went here tonight for the first time. Ironically, the tea was my least favorite part. Ordered off the soul food menu: fried chicken, potato salad, and cornbread. My husband ordered the pot pie. While we waited for our food, Chris (the server) brought out some amazing focaccia with caramelized onions and a drizzle of balsamic glaze. Delicious! The chicken was so juicy and flavorful, not at all greasy. The potato salad was yummy and not at all heavy. The cornbread was a huge portion, but it had caramelized onions throughout (I picked them out). My husband's pot pie had the best flavor and an enormous puff pastry crust that was the flakiest we'd ever seen. We ordered desserts to go: a slice of lemon pound cake and a slice of Tiramisu. With two dinners, two desserts, one glass of wine and one order of tea the bill came to $56. Not too bad. We will definitely return. I just think the tea I ordered was too strong/bitter.
- (We did notice after we paid the bill that the price on the menu for the chicken was $10 and the price we were charged was $12, but it wasn't worth going back to haggle over $2.
- They do not accept American Express, fyi.
