  • This place was so much bigger than we realized. Every time we turned the corner there was another gallery full of art work. There are a lot of diverse pieces and perspectives to display. The AGO has more than just art from Canadian artists, we also saw work by Monet, Picasso, Renoir, and Warhol (to name a few) and many many other artists. We enjoyed the mix of contemporary work on the 5th floor and older works on the 1st floor. There is also a floor full of model ships. We visited on Wednesday night from 6:00 - 8:30 PM because it was free admission. We really enjoyed our visit and recommend it if you are in the Toronto area. The staff and security guards were very friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. (Note: backpacks are not allowed in the museum, but can be checked for free or a nominal fee at guest services).
