I needed to copy a key fob over the weekend, as I was staying with a friend who didn't have a set of spare keys. It was a pleasant surprise to see that FobToronto's Saturday afternoon were wide open. I made an appointment online and received confirmation by email and text almost immediately.
I met Paul at Aroma on Bremner Blvd and he copied the fob within a few short minutes using a few devices in his backpack. I had the choice of two fobs - one being a keychain, the other being a small white sticker that could be stuck anywhere (e.g., on the back of a keychain, on your phone, etc.). I was tempted to take the sticker, simply because the concept of using a sticker to get inside a building seems so cool and futuristic. However, I decided to go with the keychain because I had nowhere to stick the sticker at the time.
Paul accepts payments by cash or credit card using his Square card reader. My fob cost $50. Paul told me to reach out if I had any issues with the fob, but it works perfectly! He also checked in by text a few days later, which was appreciated.
