| - HEED TO THE WARNINGS - THIS IS A SCARY MOVING SERVICE: I rolled the dice and lost.......I tried to believe that the negative reviews were not true, but I am sorry to report they are true. My move was very small (40) boxes which I packed, a bicycle, one flat screen TV, miscellaneous cleaning things (Mop, bucket, Swiffer, etc.). Going from Tempe to Gurnee, IL - with no inside delivery, the driver simply had to deliver to the curb.
As some of the other reviews warned, I was hit with a $200.00 increase when the movers arrived (they were on time, I'll give them that) and they were going to charge me extra to take the TV down - which Shawn told me was included. I had a friend there and he took down the TV to avoid any delays.
They did not get my load assigned for two weeks, so my items sat in their trailer on 100+ weather for two weeks. A driver was finally assigned to haul my items and it delivered 17 days after loading which is not bad. Problem is that driver was a no show for the set appointment so we had to go back and meet him 3 hours later than scheduled.
I ended up with missing (3) cartons - naturally they were the ones with my DVD collection, and collector books. The cartons which were delivered were clearly mishandled, but the damage was minimal even though one of my packed carton was pretty much destroyed. (I over-packed with bubble wrap and paper)
I think what bothered me most is that I received a wrought iron table base belonging to somebody else. When I contacted them, I had to call (5) times over a 10 day period, and finally got a response when getting the sales guy (Shawn) on the line.
Finally, I was e-mailed a form for a third party claim service, but I do not expect to recover my loss - so I am chalking this up to a lesson learned. "If it sounds too god to be true - IT IS" and "You get what you pay for" - don't be like me! Go with the brands and listen to the reviews!
USA was only a couple hundred less than United, Allied and Bekins. I would have been much better off with a professional household goods van line move.
