| - My name is Ms. Margie and I am the owner of Hollywood Kids Academy. I was shocked and saddened to read your review Marcie. I understand that you were with us for one show and that your daughter was in one of adorable 3-5 year old Twinkles "Little Mermaid" shows. Was this your child's first time on stage? Is that correct? We are sorry that you were so distressed, but I understand that your concerns were resolved quickly, professionally and kindly as we always do at HKA. I was so surprised at your harsh public criticism of an individual that is so loved and respected by many thousands of people and has been so for almost a decade. In the more than eight years she has been with Hollywood Kids, the only person that has ever found fault with our sweet Ms. Mary was a parent who was obsessed with her child and had very little experience in the performing arts world and didn't appreciate our mission, professionalism, our kind ways and value system. Of the thousands of children and parents that she has lovingly served, you are the only one that has ever found fault with her impeccable character. She loves the children so much and has been an outstanding leader. She is so loved and appreciated wherever she goes. She is a mother of seven children (including two sets of twins) and a grandma and is always so kind, gentle and professional She is simply amazing with the kids and the parents and is the reason we have a Summerlin studio, as we wouldn't trust anyone else there. I'm not sure what your interaction was that caused you such distress, but I am confident that as you attend other performing arts studios and schools with your child as she grows you will not find any other studio that is comparable to Hollywood Kids Academy wonderful staff, values, programs and professionalism. You will find that there are many people who do not treat children with love and respect in the world of the performing arts and they even exploit them. This is why we started Hollywood Kids. We are a private, family owned and operated company and we have a strong value system and do not allow any yelling, swearing, immodesty, disrespect, vulgarity, crudity or anything that will make the kids uncomfortable. We screen our employees and train them professionally in abuse training. They are amazing! We have a code of conduct that everyone must adhere to at HKA. Although we can't control everything that is said and done by people, no one can, we truly work so hard to create a safe, happy, positive and professional place where they can develop their talents and make their dreams come true without negativity, competition and trauma. Also, there are many reasons that parents are not allowed to remain with their children at professional studios, but the most important is the children's safety. All good, professional studios protect the children's privacy and their safety is their first concern. Additionally, children react differently when their parents are watching and they do not develop their talents as well. Our students also learn life's important lessons such a teamwork, kindness, dependability, responsibility, unselfishness, working hard and confidence, all while having fun. Our desire is for all children have the privilege of performing the very best of Disney and Broadway on a professional stage with amazing costumes, lights, wireless headsets, incredible sets and we feel very grateful to have been blessed to work with thousands of wonderful children and parents for almost 11 years now. We have many children who have gone on to become amazing professionals in the performing world including Broadway, Hollywood and in professional shows including Cirque du Soleil.
