| - TLDR: Excellent customer service, $7.99+ lunch specials from 11a-3:30p, FiveStars rewards program enabled, upscale ambiance, Thai Issan flavors for all flavor palettes.
While no restaurant in the United States can ever be exactly like the flavors back in Thailand, this place comes really close! I actually came to eat here by happenstance. In what appears to be a sleazy strip mall, the diadem of Thai flavors is hidden amongst the now-gone seedy massage parlors. I walked into friendly greetings and a warm smile. As the years past, this restaurant has expanded into an upscale ambiance, where you can dine in dressed-up attire or gym clothes, as I have often done.
At first, I kept coming back due to their lunch specials. A heaping portion of THE BEST pad thai in the Western United States, a bowl of field greens salad, and a cup of soup de jour ranging from tom kha to tom yum to accompany the egg roll allowed this pescatarian to enjoy great food without having to pick out bits of chicken or beef or pork. I have tried other pad thai dishes in Nevada, California, and Arizona based on Yelpers in those regions and nothing has come close to the sweet and savory flavors in Weera Thai's pad thai.
Albeit the food warms the soul, I keep coming back due to the consistency that Weera Thai provides during lunch and dinner. Yeah you get the occasional heavy hand with the same spice level, but the food and customer service always remains top notch. Refills of water without asking, new silverware and plates between courses, and a rotating "specials" menu will have you asking how such a 5-star location continues growing its business off the Strip.
Chef Peter and Sasi is the duo you wish to grow up and emulate when you find that special someone. Their hearts are just as big as their creative ingenuity. You are always treated with the utmost respect from the staff, even the people that yell angry epithets at them for their food not coming out as quickly as fast food. They are always appreciative of your business, feedback, and happy demeanor after sharing a meal with them. Kudos to Weera Thai. You'll be sure to see me here at least once every week. :]
