This was a really neat one-time experience. If you have kids or if you are fascinated with butterflies, head on over. Lots of road construction on the 101 near here and construction at the site to add on a large aquarium. Tickets are very pricey for what is included( approx. $45 for two adults). Luckily under 3 is free, so we didn't pay for kiddo. We went on a Friday around 11:30 and there were four school buses leaving. Whew!
It starts with a short 3D video about butterfly life cycles and then you can view butterfly cocoons before heading into the conservatory. This part was really cool and our son was amazed by seeing the different colorful species fly right by his face. Bring a camera and dress for hot/humid temps because they fog up this bad boy for the butterflies and plants to thrive. There are also birds and a coy pond. After the conservatory, you can view insects in action and view the small aquarium before exiting through the gift shop.
I don't know that we will be back due to the price but we are glad we went once.
