| - I have been to Sol on more than one occasion and each time I go I REALLY want to love this place... It has a sexy vibe and great drinks but their food and service really in my opinion leaves room to be desired... And lets be honest this place isn't cheap! But I am Huge huge fan of their cocktails, their grande clase azul margarita is amazing, and is enough for two to share and also a fan of their farmers market margarita.
On my most recent trip we started with the Ceviche Sol, which is served with sashimi-grade fish, fresh squeezed lime juice, pico & serrano, sliced avocado and served with their highly addictive fried tostada chips. This dish was the best dish of the night and I really think they do a great job with their ceviches. The flavors were balance and the fish was very fresh. Entree wise I did the Lobster & Shrimp Enchiladas, portion was huge but was SUPER fishy and almost like the lobster and shrimp was about to turn rancid. It really lacked any great flavor and just needed something, and for $24.00 i just felt kinda played. A girlfriend got the crane asada burrito served "wet", she said the same too, it needed some spice. Tried to order dessert and they were out of the bread pudding. Our waitress was also no where to be seen.... She dropped the check and disappeared for a good 45 minutes.
If your looking for a great margarita and a quick appetizer Sol is your place, but anything beyond that... There are better options
