Me and one of my friends visited Boudreaux's last month after an evening yoga class in the neighborhood. It was a rainy, cold Thursday evening, so the place wasn't busy. Unfortunately, we were immediately struck by the VERY THICK haze and stench of cigarette smoke.
My friend ordered the black-bean veggie burger with a side of potato salad and I ordered the shrimp po'boy with a side of fries. We were both shocked by the large portions of both of our meals.
The seasoning on my fries was a tad stronger than I like but not overwhelming. The bread was lightly toasted and very thick which made eating the sandwich a little difficult.
However, my friend commented on the fact that her veggie burger had the texture and taste of a regular beef burger! Also, she noted that her potato salad was very satisfying and delicious.
Although our meals were very enjoyable, having to deal with the thick stench of smoke put a major damper on everything else. Also, our waitress didn't appear to be all that interested in providing much service to our table.
I hear good things about their brunch menu, so I would be willing to try them again during the day. Hopefully, the next time I go it will be on a nice day so I can sit outside and not have to worry about cigarette smoke interfering with my meal.
