And this is why I hate car shopping and why car dealers and salespersons get a bad rap. Found a car I was interested on carfax.com yesterday. Was really interested in it because it was listed as Certified Pre-Owned. Went and looked at it last night, liked the car, but I don't buy on the first visit and came home to sleep on it. Started looking at things again this morning, last night they told me the warranty was over on the car and there was nothing to transfer over to me and I would need to purchase anything as an addition. But wait? The car is listed as CPO and according to the Subaru website it should be warrantied up to 100k miles. Emailed the sales person this morning asking her about it and she informs me that the car has had all the CPO work done to it, but it isn't a CPO car in actuality, because the born on date of the car is 5 years 2 months ago and they can only "certify" a car per Subaru up to 5 years old. Here is the vehicle listed on the Subaru.com website. http://cpo.subaru.com/certified-inventory/index.htm?geoZip=44281&geoRadius=50&gvModel=XV+Crosstrek&year=2013&geoZip=44281&geoRadius=50&saveFacetState=true&lastFacetInteracted=inventory-listing1-facet-anchor-gvModel-2 And attached is screen shot of the carfax ad.
Well that is one dealership that won't see a dime of my money.
