My boyfriend and I come here at least once a month. We finally have our order down to a science and have always had great service/food/drinks.
That being said, last night was extra awesome for us.
We sat in the lounge area because the dining room looked pretty busy and we're not picky. The bartender seemed a little new, but that never bothers us. We've both been in the service industry and are understanding. We ordered our usual, the margherita pizza with prosciutto and goat cheese (along with the tom, basil and motzz that's already on it). SO GOOD.
Our pizza was delivered with NO cheese! Which is pretty funny. The server thought I said no cheese instead of goat cheese. COMPLETELY understandable! We both laughed and we're totally fine waiting for them to remake it.
The manager, Chris, came over and offered the most sincere apology and also shared a laugh about the misunderstanding. He also took the pizza off of our bill. We didn't think this was necessary, but it was greatly appreciated. The service and hospitality were above exceptional and this is why a restaurant like LGO not only becomes popular but endures the timeframe in which most bright restaurants fizzle.
Again, we've both worked in the service industry and understand mistakes. We are loyal to a few restaurants in Phoenix because of the way those mistakes are handled. The manager Chris, our server (I didn't catch his name) and La Grande Orange in general are the epitome of great service and management.
See ya'll again soon!
ps. we finally tried the peanut butter pie and my boyfriends words were "I've literally never had a better dessert in my entire life."
