| - Our exploration of the eateries at Mekong Plaza continues. Having already sampled each of the restaurants at the food court, we decided to give this one a try. They always seem to have a fairly steady supply of patrons, so we were optimistic.
My girlfriend and I shared an order of Oyster Omelet (#118) and Sliced Pork w/ Dried Bean Curd & Veggies (#411). The size of the portions was more than enough for the two of us.
This was the first time either of tried oyster omelet, which is a standard Taiwanese night market favorite. All of the ingredients tasted fresh and delicious, the egg and potato starch omelet was tender, cut easily with a fork, and the consistency was just the right degree of chewiness. The sauce was more on the sweet side than savory, however it was yummy and complimented the omelet nicely.
The sliced pork dish was perfect - the pork was cooked just right, the consistency of the bean curd and veggies was excellent, and the degree of spice was just right. My girlfriend, who is a native of mainland China, said this dish reminded her of good home style cooking.
The service was prompt and courteous and the prices were reasonable. I'm confident we will dine here again.
