  • This is a nicer hotel than we usually frequent, and we liked it a lot. :) We appreciated how friendly the staff are- they would greet us warmly as we passed them in the halls, and the front desk staff were kind too. We were given warm cookies at check in, even though it was 10:00 at night, and they told us that we shouldn't be shy to ask for a cookie each day, as a Hilton Honors club member, which we thought was cute (because we probably would have been embarrassed to ask!) . The rooms are nice. Ours was clean. It seemed a little weird that there are no towel racks anywhere. The shower had good temperature and good water pressure- never a problem. The bed and bedding are crazy comfortable and the bath towels are big and awesome. The toiletries are Crabtree and Evelyn (though they only replenished them once- the next two days they didn't give us any more shampoo, conditioner, lotion or soap- bummer). We really appreciated the complimentary bottles of water in our room (on the Hilton Honors Floor- 5th floor). Our room was supposed to have a refrigerator- it didn't, but when we called about it they brought one up within 10 minutes, even though it was pretty late at night. Very good service. We were really impressed that the rooms had the wastebaskets split between recycling and regular garbage- we often take our water bottles or other recyclables home with us at other hotels so we can recycle them there- this was convenient and smart. We actually were impressed with Cleveland's recycling overall- there were containers throughout the city- much better than in Illinois. The AC/heat is similar to other hotels- you can control it yourself, which is great, but it comes on every few minutes and is VERY loud. I think it was the fourth night here that it didn't wake me up every time it came on. The pool is cool- it's an indoor and outdoor pool and has a little opening where you can go from inside to outside in the pool. There was always someone sitting at the tables around the outdoor part of the pool. We highly recommend you pay a little extra to get the breakfast included with your room- we thoroughly enjoyed it each morning- the best hotel breakfast we've had anywhere! The hotel got very loud at night. We were on the fifth floor but clearly heard conversations and laughter outside by the pool until after midnight- it was very frustrating. You can hear people in the hallways and the doors slam very loudly. It's a good location- close to expressways and restaurants and a good movie theater are nearby. Overall, we were pleased with our experience overall.
