  • I took a Beginners Russian L1 course here with Irina. I really enjoyed my visit here since the classes were small, approximately 7-8 people in a private room for foreign language studies. The classes were held twice per week on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7-9 pm. Location-wise is convenient since its no longer than a 5 minute walk south of Eglinton subway station. The Russian L1 course gave me a basic understanding of how to read the Russian Cyrillic alphabet, as well as know everyday phrases, verbs, adjectives, and other vocabulary. Upon enrolling for the program, I was given a workbook that is really useful because there are lots of exercises to practice with various subjects per chapter. Along with that, lots of handouts were given out, so its useful to carry a binder to hold these notes. I felt like the course was not too intensive because the teacher would always review material before starting a new lesson. It may be frustrating to learn a new language, especially Russian, but Hansa Language Centre has provided a great learning experience with amazing teachers. Bonus: Upon completing the course, you will receive a personalized certificate! I definitely recommend Hansa to anyone who is willing to learn English, Russian, or any other foreign language.
