When I found out that another French restaurant had opened in Pittsburgh, I was pretty excited. Cafe du Jour still ranks as one of my favorite restaurants in Pittsburgh so I was indeed looking forward to the opportunity to see what this place had to offer. I came in and was immediately greeted enthusiastically by the owner of the restaurant. Telling her that it was my first time in, she immediately asked and made a number of recommendations to accommodate my preferences. This has played out every time I've come in to try something new. In general, the menu is subject to time to time depending on freshness of ingredients and what's available. I'm glad the place hasn't gotten rid of my favorite sandwich here, which is probably the Roast Pork Broccoli Rabe. There's something just so wonderful about the roast pork and how it's prepared here. Incredibly juicy, fresh, and full of flavor. Oh and did I mention that all the sandwiches here come with fresh fries that also taste great to boot? The Pressed Fillet is a great second option, but really you can't go wrong with any choice you make. They have a wide selection of appetizers and sandwiches to fit basically any taste and I also really like how they tailor menu items to different cuisines that people might like. In general, this has always been a great place to go eat. Great food, friendly and enthusiastic owners/staff, and at reasonable prices. Definitely worth a visit if you're in the area!
