When did the library become a place for afterschool daycare and tutors to run business? From 3-7pm this is overrun with school kids eating snacks, RUNNING through the building and tutors using loud voices to run tutoring services. Parents with younger children take over the rest of the building. Staff seems unable or unwilling to to enforce 'library' policies and keep the area quiet. The building is not set up with a children's area so the noise of children stays in the designated area. It does not seem there are rooms for 'tutors'.
If you order new DVDs or new materials they are filled quickly, however materials are kept in locked plastic cases so if you self-check you need to stand in line again for them to unlock your items. If you bypass the self-check and have staff check out your items, staff seems unhappy and informs you to 'check them out at the machine first'. Well, i have to come over here anyway- so to save MYSELF time, I'm going to let you do everything.
Basically I plan my day to come between 12-2 when its most quiet, kids seem to be under control, and staff appears to be in the best possible mood to deal with consumers.
