Well, when you order a fresh turkey, it should not be as hard as a rock...all the way through. I had ordered 2 12-14# FRESH turkeys a couple of weeks ago from the Val Vista location in Gilbert. Picked them up today and commented to the meat person that they were supposed to be fresh - but they were hard as a rock. He says, "its just the ice cap"...OK, it did have a little tiny bit of give so I took them home. Frozen so solid I couldn't get the wings/legs or anything to move without running warm/hot water over it.
I called to notify/complain to the manager and he thanked me, but did not offer to do anything in the way of correcting the situation. Guess what. Won't order turkeys from them any longer. At least he could have offered to replace it with a fresh one.
