  • Service is literally amazing. The host/waiter chatted with me when I came in and when I said I was in hurry he showed me the menu and explained specials before I even sat down. Promised 15min cook time and it was true. I ordered the Monroe burger which is like classic cheese burger but with juicy perfectly seasoned beef and wi cheddar with house aioli and arugula. It was definitely the best burger I've had in madison. Came with a side of greens which had a vinaigrette dressing that blew me away. Raspberry maybe? I also ordered he stone ground ipa which was great. I'm an iPa double ipa type of person, the more hops the better and lemme tell ya, it was very good. Full body and grassy flavor, no bitter aftertaste. I highly recommend it. I liked it so much actually I got a flight after which was the Wednesday special of 4 5oz beers for 6$. I got the magic hat art hop, which was interesting but darker than you expect(as with all magic hat), descheutes was a solid amber ale but a little boring. The door county lil sister is weird but if you're looking to branch out it is very good but you have to be ready for the coriander because it HITS you. The mosaic hops was also very interesting with blood orange and sage. I definitely recommend beers here for both standard high quality drinks and novelty madison styles. I liked the beer so much actually I ordered more food in order to keep drinking. I got the bluegill tacos which are very meaty - which is good since they're 12$ and you want your money's worth. Fresh Mendota blue gill with pickled coleslaw and lime, cooked very tender and once again, spiced amazingly. I hear the Monroe st fair is this Saturday and that their special is novelty popcorn (I might have to check it out). Madison in general is a foodie city so it's hard to go wrong when picking restaurants, but if you're looking for a less crowded, tavern meal with a little extra fance, brocach is where it's at.
