| - So before going back to law school (still don't know why I did that lol) I worked as a fashion buyer and traveled all around the country staying at various hotels. Unfortunately the experience I had at Doubletree was not one of the best. To be clear, the staff and management were very nice, attentive, and got things done in a timely fashion. It was the appliances and hotel set/up that took away from my experience. To begin, the parking deck is not connected to the hotel at all. Although, it isn't a 5 minute walk, walking through the Parkin deck or through the Johnson and Wales University Courtyard to get to your hotel with bags in tow is a bit of an annoyance, especially when most hotels, especially in NC don't have this type of set up. The true let down is the toilet! Yes, you don't know how important a well engineered toilet is until you don't have one. The water pressure of the toilets are so low that you may be hesitant to use tissue! Yes, a full mess! The first room I was in actually overflowed during what I would considered regular toilet use, no excessive sickness or anything. The toilet haunted me in my dreams and I had to call maintenance multiple times even after switching rooms. Thus, I gave this hotel 3 stars, but the warms cookies are still to die for- I just wouldn't trade warm cookies for a well working toilet lol.
