| - Friday night date night and we ended up here, since the smells and sound of BBQ were too good to pass up. The line was quite long but only took about 15-20 minutes to get through. The set up is cafeteria style where silverware, trays, plates and drinks are first and you order next. My boyfriend got the meat platter but unfortunately, they were out of chicken and ribs! So it was a double order of chopped brisket and pulled pork. I ordered the 2 meat platter with turkey breast and jalapeño sausage. Sides we got were mac and cheese, cheesy potato, coleslaw, and potato salad. A piece of garlic/Texas toast comes with the meal and corn bread is $2.50 extra. Total with drinks was under $30, not bad for all the food we got! BF got the homemade root beer, which he loved! It does have quite a root beer kick though, from what I was told (I don't like root beer).
Seating is a plenty here, including outdoor seating. We picked a booth inside and started chowing away. The BBQ sauce was nice, it was tasty on the pulled pork and turkey. Surprisingly, my favorite meat was the jalapeno sausage, and I am NOT a fan of spicy things! It had just the right amount of spice and the sausage was unreal. Favorite side of the night (agreed unanimously) was the coleslaw! It was SO fresh, crunchy with a touch of sweetness. I swear I could eat an entire bowl of it. Mac and cheese was OK, cheesy potato was OK, potato salad was OK. The toast is nothing special, next time I will try the corn bread.
Overall, we liked the food and would return. I probably won't go on a weekend again so we can actually try the food we want before they run out and avoid long lines. We will be back!
