Such a disappointment after reading good reviews. On the positive side, we had a knowledgeable server who explained the menu in detail. Unfortunately she raved about every dish on the menu. We would have been better served had she directed us a bit more carefully.
We started with the pork belly appetizer. Flavor wasn't bad but this was the fattiest pork belly I've ever had. Kind of a gross start to the evening.
For main dishes, we shared a fig and prosciutto pizza (which was very good) and the ahi tuna. I've had lots of excellent ahi even out here in the desert. Unfortunately this wasn't one if them. Needless to say, $28 for a dry and bland ahi left me feeling ripped off.
To our server's credit, she tried to make up for it with a free dessert. While the tiramisu was very good, the right thing to do would have been to remove the $28 from our bill. Because we had checked in on Yelp, we were due a free dessert anyway.
Maybe they were having a bad night or maybe we just ordered poorly with a couple of our dishes, but I really can't recommend this place. That's a shame since they seem to do some things very well.
