| - More like House of SNOOZE! Get it?! (you get it).
I think Neko Case said it best when she was on stage here: "I like the Beachland about 8000 times fucking more." (Yes, this is an actual quote, and yes Neko Case is this amazing (no duh)).
The HoB is the Applebee's of music venues (they even have kitschy garbage on the walls!) . So if you're into chain restaurants, you'll probably be into the HoB (a chain music venue); which, in all fairness, is FINE - we're all different people who like different things (though, I'm secretly worried about you).
During concerts, the HoB prices its drinks as if it were a sporting event, so get ready to pony up big time.
Also, for those of you who are not aware, House of Blues is owned by Live Nation, which itself has recently merged with TicketMaster (barf). With that in mind, it should come to no surprise that it engages in the deceptive practice of tacking "Service Fees" onto all of its ticket sales. Think you can avoid these fees by purchasing the tickets directly at the venue, instead of online or over the phone? Nope! They apply regardless of the method of purchase.
Under these circumstances, you would think that HoB could simply and honestly include their "fee" amount into the face-value of the ticket; but that would require HoB to not be the absolute worst, which it most definitely is.
