The first time I visited Trax farms was to pick up a bottle of Arrowhead wine in their wine shop. We walked around in their food shop as well as the decoration area too. They have a lot of neat knick knacks to put around your house, although I think they were a bit pricey for me at this point, especially considering I rent and do not own. They have a bottle shop area too where you can create your own six packs which is nice considering nearby it didn't appear to be convenient to pick one up elsewhere if needed. We got our pumpkin here this year as well and that experience was insane! Lines out the door, nowhere to park, etc. My boyfriend's sister sends me emails about their upcoming events and they have a wine tasting Feb. 21 (I'd go but I'm already going to Pittsburgh Beer fest that same day!) as well as a winter beer tasting in January. Plus they do wine tastings pretty regularly throughout the year. They also have a flea market going on weekends in January and I believe February as well. I drove past when one was going on this weekend and it was very, very crowded. It looks like you can pick your own fruit in the summer which I'm looking forward to doing. I grew up in the Wexford area so I'd liken Trax farms to Soergel's Orchards, but Trax is on a much bigger level. It's nice to have something like Trax that is still so close to the southern areas of Pittsburgh yet you really do feel like you're out in the country!
