| - I ordered a new set of headlights for my car and needed them to be installed. I was going to upgrade from a halogen bulb to the newer advanced LED type. Jiffy Lube does not carry them. Since I knew one of their services is replacing headlight bulbs I thought I would ask them if they could do it for me.
I pull up at 3:30 yesterday and there is a car in each bay, so I knew right away there might be a wait. I told the man assisting me what I needed to be done and he said the wait would be an hour. I wanted to show him the bulbs I wanted replaced but he said he didn't need to see them, a bulb is a bulb. How much is the labor to install them? We'll figure that out when it's your turn, was his answer. Kind of weird that he wanted me to wait without seeing the bulb kit or let me know how much labor is to install the bulbs.
I had other errands to do and asked if I could just comeback in the hour to have them replaced and he said, If you leave then you lose your place in line. I said what about we make an appointment then for an hour later? Nope, we don't do appointments here. I left nonetheless and returned 30 minutes later after doing another errand.
They pull my car in the bay and ask me to sit in the waiting area while they do the work. First time he comes out he says we don't use after market parts. Could of told me that earlier when I asked for him to look at them, remember, a bulb is a bulb. I asked him, What is the labor charge for changing bulbs? He said it was $23.95 per installation. Seemed a little high but then I knew I couldn't do it myself. I told him that its just like any other bulb with the difference being that one is halogen and the new one is LED. He said, ok let me look at it again. Comes back out again and says We do not do any rewiring here. I asked, What rewire? It's plug n play just like any other bulb is, unplug one bulb from the harness and plug the new one in. Once again he tells me , Let me look at it again. Now the manager comes out and say he can't do it, it NEEDS to be rewired.
At this point I realize they have no clue as to how to replace a bulb in a car. Clearly the instructions showed, with pictures even, you unplug one and plug in the other. No need to REWIRE the bulb to make it work. I leave the place and think that was a waste of time.
I drive down the street to Cobblestone and they took care of me right away !! Took the guy 15 minutes from start to finish and charged me $15.95 TOTAL out the door, two bulbs installed and NO REWIRING, plug n play.
My advise, don't use this place for anything other than oil changes, they have no idea how to change a light bulb, (insert ethnic joke here)
