  • After 13 years of patronage and complete satisfaction, the folks at this clinic are done taking care of my 4 dogs, as per their owner. Last month, I had needed to bring in one (of my now three) dogs for a teeth cleaning and extraction because he wasn't eating. I was told by a fairly new employee, that I had to make a regular appointment first. I had said that I never had to do that before and her response was that is how it's done. After spending 5 minutes with my dog and being billed $63.00, I was told that I'd need to do the same with my other dog as well, who needed her teeth cleaned and some extracted. Again, never having to do this, I got irate at the front desk and felt that I was being taken for $123.00 for the quick office visit that was to precede the $250-$350 procedure / per dog, that was to follow. I couldn't contain my words and blew up in the office at the new employee for feeling taken. No one came to address this situation and I just left. I waited a couple of days to calm down from the initial shock and called again. Luckily I had gotten another employee on the phone, one that I remembered being there for sometime. I told her my story and she confirmed that it was unusual for any dog that has been under their care, to have an office visit prior to this procedure. Heck, the last time I was in, the vet told me that he needed to do an emergency hysterectomy on one of my dogs that I brought in for not feeling well. I was so thankful for their care. To receive a refund on my office visit from their office and a note from their owner to not come back was most unsettling. I've own a very successful business for 10 years and had a sign posted in the lunchroom for the staff to see. It read: Rules of Operation 1. The client is always right. 2. If you think that the client is wrong, refer to rule #1. It would benefit Saguaro Animal Clinic to take this advise because what they think may be a best practice, is pretty pathetic in the world of customer service. I'm certain that I'm not the first person that this new employee has behaved like this with, and I'm sure I will not be the last as long as the leadership condones this behavior. So after 13 years, I sadly move on and say, "SHAME on YOU Saguaro Animal Clinic!"
