| - Well, after 12 years, my cat finally needed some sort medical help (outside the typical check up and travel exams). His bottom eyelid had curled underneath his eyeball and his fur was irritating his eye to the point that it over produced tears and began to puss up. It's an issue more commonly found in dogs, but since my little guy fetches, lets me rub his belly, and licks my face when I come home from work, I guess he's close enough to a dog anyway.
I am a member of UPC (Universal Pet Care) which is close to insurance, but not really pet insurance. For $10 a month, they cover annual shots, get your office copay to $25, and you get 20% off meds and any operations. I think it really helps if you have a pet on the "mature" side of life.
Anyway, onto the Medical and Surgical center. This place is typical Scottsdale, with a very modern facility, and a tranquil fountain in the lobby. The staff is very friendly, and extremely knowledgeable. Everyone acts as if your pet is a part of their family. The doctors are probably the best in the city/state/country? (They have awards in the lobby). Although they may be somewhat expensive, it's worth it cause it's your pet!
I hated seeing his little forearms shaved from the IV but his eye looked amazing when they were done. He still has 5 stitches in it (they come out Monday) but the precision and attention to detail in the stitches is amazing. Very evenly spaced, and perfectly tied off... I kinda want to go there if I ever have an issue!
So basically if you are anything like me, and you unconditionally love your pets, and become a complete wreck when anything goes wrong with them, you can rest assured this place will take care of them like they are their own.
